Located a block away from Central Park, CELINE’s flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York City is designed by CELINE creative director Hedi Slimane.

Stocking men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collection alongside a variety of accessories, the 5831 sq ft (500 sq m) space features a brutalist, elegant and abstract interior composed of materials such as natural stones, oak, concrete, polished stainless steel and brass.

Furnished with pieces designed by Slimane, commissioned artwork by James Balmforth and Jose Dávila also add to the space.

The flagship store on Madison Avenue is part of CELINE’s plan to open additional stores in New York, LA, Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing. All flagships and boutiques will feature Slimane’s design concept.

“CELINE has a great distribution network and high-quality visibility but no large stores,” explained CELINE CEO Severine Merle. “We need to open flagships in major cities, larger stores that can accommodate menswear and newly expanded women’s collections.

“We have openings planned all over the world,” said Merle. “Flagships and larger boutiques will offer men’s and women’s together, but some stores will also present just men’s or women’s. The Paris network will expand in March, notably with the first menswear flagship on the Rue François 1er, a historically CELINE  location. The Avenue Montaigne store will remain dedicated to womenswear. There will be menswear boutiques in all the major capitals.”
