American fashion retailer Everlane is one of the latest companies to donate money to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The San Francisco-based brand recently announced that all profits from its 100% Human collection will be donated to Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund.
The COVID-19 Response Fund, launched in mid-March by Feeding America, is a national food and fundraising effort to support people in the United States who are facing food shortages during the pandemic. The fund also supports local food banks who help distribute food to people in need.
Everlane’s 100% Human line is almost entirely made up of unisex pieces (namely classic t-shirts, muscle tanks, crew neck sweatshirts, and hoodies), with the exception being a few tees specifically designed for women. Prices range from $36 CAD ($25 USD) to $80 CAD ($57 USD).
In addition to their donation to Feeding America, Everlane has also taken measures to ensure that they can support their employees in the long-term. In order to do this, they announced that senior leadership salaries have been reduced by 25 percent and Everlane’s CEO, Michael Preysman, has forfeited his salary altogether at this time.
Like nearly all other clothing retailers, Everlane has shut the doors to its brick and mortar locations in California and New York during this unprecedented time. However, its online store remains open, and they have waived the return fees and extended its return policy to 90 days.
