$1 Million Donation Made by Kering to the CDC Foundation

To support the continuous fight against COVID-19, Kering, a French luxury group with GucciYves Saint LaurentBottega Venteta, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen as its houses among more, has donated $1 million USD to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) Foundation. 

With the money, the CDC Foundation will supply healthcare workers in the United States and Latin America with much needed medical supplies and personal protective equipment. 

For the fellow French, the country’s health service is set to directly receive 3 million surgical masks from Kering. Speaking of the French, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent’s workshops in France will begin the production of masks as soon as the manufacturing process and materials have been approved by authorities. To top it off, a financial donation has been made to Institut Pasteur, a French foundation that is researching COVID-19.

A total of four foundation hospitals in neighbouring Italy received donations from Kering and abroad, a donation was made to China’s Hubei Red Cross Foundation.

Kering will also be among the many fashion companies that are donating to A Common Thread, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund initiative. In addition, a donation has been made to “Your Friends in New York”, an organization launched by fashion designer Kerby Jean-Raymond.
